I'm curious as to some details about this host, but I can't seem to get any information from the contact forms, after a week or two an two submitted forms, so maybe best to ask here.

In short, I'd like to know if this host accepts off-site connections (from another server), and where the servers are physically located so that I can use the host SQL databases from another server and hopefully have a decent latency with it. I don't want to waste time if this host won't work for my purposes as I've already been through some 3 odd hosts before and my current one is proving very annoying.

Thanks in advance, and any additional details are appreciated!

No, there is neither inbound nor outbound remote SQL access on the Free Hosting plan. You would need, at least, to have an HTTP API. As for location, Chicago environs.

Note, as well, that Free Hosting prohibits data/file storage use; the service is provided only for web sites.

I was asking about the x10premium plans. Do they differ in those regards? Chicago is awesome though.

I can't speak directly to much of that. Yes, you do have the ability to access databases remotely (both inbound and outbound), but my reading of the terms of service seems to imply that there has to be a website of some sort fronting it. File storage, for instance, is forbidden. (There would be no such restrictions on VPS services; as long as you're not doing anything illegal or related to enabling copyright infringement, you can pretty much use the resources you're paying for as you wish.)
There is a pretty high wall between Free Hosting and x10Premium, with very few people in common. Most of the people here are either volunteers or staff dedicated to Free Hosting. I'd suggest using the x10Premium contact page to get something definitive.

I've been waiting for replies from that contact page for weeks, and tried sending two forms now, which I why I came here for some information, but it sounds alright so far. If there any more info about that at some point, that'd be nice, but as soon as I get the chance, I'll likely be switching to here from an old host in France. Was recommended to me at any rate. Thanks!

I have pinged a couple admins that would be able to answer this, I also mentioned that you had tried using the contact for without getting a reply.

Hello, I checked our records and I'm seeing two tickets to have come in from you regarding SQL connectivity from remote hosts. Both of these were replied to within 1-2 hours. Can you please check your spam folder/directory to ensure that the emails weren't incorrectly flagged as spam? I've pasted the reply from your latest inquiry below:

1) Yes, there is no host restriction with accessing the MySQL server, except in the user-configured remote access hosts for specific databases. (That is, you are able to control this via white-listing or even a wildcard to allow any hosts to connect.)
2) There are not any specific limits on queries, however we do limit concurrent connections to 20 per user. We generally see MySQL connections and queries complete quite rapidly, so generally this is not a limit that is reached by many with typical usage on a shared hosting account. CPU usage is also limited to a value less than a CPU core per account, however it is also not usually an issue we see encountered if proper database schema/indexes are used.
3) A MySQL service is hosted per shared web hosting server, and all of our servers are located in Chicago, IL, USA.
4) We provide cPanel, currently at version 11.40.

Thanks! I did check the spam folders a few times, but it doesn't seem that any went through to me, but thanks for replying here. I like the way all this sounds, and support is swell (short of GMail hiding things from me)
