Hello,

What Is the script and what is it trying to connect to? We may have to add the IP to the firewall.

Zen cart on the installation. I need a shopping cart that handles google and paypal checkout and im hoping this will do it. Thanks.

The website says check with your host to see if they allow cURL.

If you have to add a IP manually for this then that will be a problem because i do things from both my computer connection and phone connection.. sometimes both when i tether so my ip is always changing on multiple machines.

Hello,

We mean the IP that zencart uses to install. Zen cart uses a IP address to connect on port 80 to update/do other installation things. We would need to add that IP to our firewalls allow.

not sure how you want me to obtain that? ping my cart?

All it tells me on installation is can't connect to host.

CURL problems detected: 28 => connect() timed out!

CURL NON-SSL Capability = CURL problems detected: 28 => connect() timed out!

Hello,

Contact the developers of the script and ask them for any IP's their software uses to connect to a remote server on port 80.

This is what the zen-cart staff told me,

Pretty simple: www.zen-cart.com
If they have any clue what they're doing, they'll be able to figure out the IP from that.

You'll only need it during installation. It'll never be required again after that unless using a troubleshooting/diagnostic tool.

Keep in mind that the *reason* CURL is being tested is because you'll need it to talk to external services like payment gateways, shipping companies, currency banks, etc. If your hosting company requires you to individually authorize each IP, make sure you plan well in advance if you intend to actually process transactions. And make sure they're not going to limit you by the number of addresses you can access. Also be aware that your store could be shut down by a simple mistake they make when authorizing someone *else*'s IP for another reason. So, if communications (esp for payment transactions) suddenly breaks for some reason, be sure to contact your level 2 tech first.

I said,

ok thanks and i assume by them knowing what there doing then you mean its as easy as pinging this website and getting a result such as 174.36.207.130, correct?

They said,

There are numerous ways to look up an IP from a URL. They can decide what's best for exactly what they need for their specific firewall use.
