deleted everything

I have a bit of a problem...
I am quite a novice with this but having a real fun when learning. Unfortunately when I wanted to erase the content of my public_html folder and start a new project I deleted everything from the root. Now when I try to install or open a page that I have uploaded (successfully at least something works) I get some error pages.
Obviously I have erased something that I shouldn't so I wonder what should I do to restore it.

The easiest thing would be terminate and recreate the account.

Do you currently have anything on there you'd need to keep (databases for instance)?
