I am a new user and am having trouble getting the correct path for FTP access. I am using Mac's iWeb, cyber duck, and Lightsoft Weather Center. All of these ask for the directory/path, but for some reason it rejects everything I put in there. What is the correct path to my site?

The directory path should be / if you want to access your home directory, but if you want to publish websites to your site it should be /public_html .

Are you using ftp.mydomain.x10.mx as the host name (replacing mydomain.x10.mx with your domain name).
Also, ensure you are using port 21 and your cPanel username and password.

I finally have been able to get my Lightsoft Weather software to upload the files but now when I try to access the site I get 500 error. It says there is a permissions problem, problem with the .htaccess file which I don't have, or syntax error in cgi script.
these files worked on another server so i don't understand why the problem here.
Secondly, i still have not been able to get iWeb for Mac to upload any files yet, I keep getting directory/path does not exist. I've tried all kinds of combinations and can't get it to work

About the 500 error, please go into your cPanel File Manager or FTP client (such as FileZilla) and...

- Ensure that all the files are set permissions of 644 or 0644.
- Ensure that all directories are set permissions of 755 or 0755.

In order to change permissions, in FileZilla and cPanel File Manager you can right click and choose 'Change Permission'.

thank you, I'll try this. I think one of the folders is 750 instead of 755,.
I finally have iWeb configured correctly and have upload my files but am still getting the x10 welcome page. It's only been a short while now so I'll wait a bit to see if it changes over to my index file.

I've been waiting about 2 hours now since making the changes to the permissions and even longer since the upload on my main page and still I get 500 error on my weather page and still am getting the x10 welcome page for my main page. Unable to access either site.
