No he won't. I don't like his views, which are radical socialist and going to turn the USA into the USSA.

When Obama made his acceptance speech he said that there may not be change this term.....so if he gets next term we might see if he is a good president. But I say no!

I vote no, and specifically because my one important issue is gun control. I am hugely pro-gun, and go to the shooting range every weekend. I happen to find Obama's gun control policies absolutely sickening and illogical, so to me, he will be a bad president. It really depends on what people believe the important issues are. I also don't see Obama as having a very good grasp of Smithianism, specifically the invisible hand, and thus I actually predict more economic problems than solutions coming from his administration.

I have to say that the gun control policies he has, are not in my favor either, all my family members own guns, and all of them do go hunting, and all of them do to shooting ranges. We have fun doing anything or talking about this or that gun when we go around and shoot discs in the middle of NY. ( I am not good at this at all..not much of a gun user. )

But then other polocies he has I don't quite like. The fact that he wants to lower taxes for everyone....(without charing the rich people more)....he was a congressman and he does make money...he is very wealthy.

And also.....he will not be a good president in my eyes (though I voted for him) for that he was a congressman who voted for many things bush did. He along with all the other congressman like John McCain made BAD choices they accepted war with Iraq.....(many many people from my hometown are there....and I hate it) Many people are also dieing that are in my opinion not even a threat, (women and children).

Will he be a bad president.....tell me this.....do you know if he voted for the war on Iraq?......if you don't like the war...you shouldn't like this guy either.

Will he be a bad president?.....well.....let me say this.....according to the above paragraph......(we send out billions a month to pay for the war....he may have been for (go find out if he was for the war...then come back to talk)...the billions could have been used to help people with their mortgages, with their debts, to pay America's Debt to the world.....(we have TRILLIONS and TRILLIONS) of dollars that we owe to other countries.

Well....tell me what you think about this "great" president of ours. I can go on and on....

Obama is a Marcsist! While it may seem that there is nothing too wrong with each of the changes that he 'promised' to make, each of those is one step towards socialism. If Obama were to suddenly turn Communist and start abusing his power with an attempt to take total control of America, he would have absolutely no success. But, that is not his goal. Obama is not going to turn America communism. Instead, he is doing his best to make it easier for the next president to do so. I urge you to find the motive for each of his promises. Take for example his promise to tax the rich and give to the poor: besides that fact that this will never happen (he'll tax the rich but not give to the poor), this is just what survivors from the collapsed communist Russia are warning us about! Less than 30 years ago, we saw this principle fail miserably in the USSR. Do you think it will work here? Absolutely not! What has made America so succesfull? Definately not communism, for America has never been communism. Definately not socialism, for America has never been socialist. It has been America's strong constitution, and her small government. The U.S. had one of the world's smallest governments. This is nolnger quite so true, and the result is that we are rolling down the descent to communism. Obama then, is one more step down that descent, and, I fear, only one more will be needed to reach the bottom, from which there will be no return.
Our founding fathers first setup the government, then they set us up with guns to protect us from our government. Obama realizes this. Consequently, one of his main goals is to make guns illegal. After that, we will be defensless, totally at the mercy of the monster of a government that was originally setup not to harm us, but to PROTECT us.

On the other hand, I do not endorse McCain either, he is little or no better. McCain just manages to hide his views better.

I must agree with some one who posted earlier in this thread that we need a break away from the two party system. We need a leader who will return to the constitution, and decrease the government to its proper size. George Washington said that the government's only purpose was to promote "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Not to get in our way, make ever descision for us, and make us totally reliable upon government help.

To sum this up, very few of the people who ran for the office this year were qualified to lead our nation on a safe path, and neither Obama nor McCain nor Biden nor Palin are among those few.

Yes,
He is exactly what we need right now - an intelligent, articulate, thoughtful guy who supports fairness and moderation - the exact opposite of what we have had for the last 8 years . It's a shame the current administration and recent Congress left him with such a mess. Good Luck to us all.

I'm surprised by how many people on this forum think Obama will not be a good President. I will have to rethink my opinions about what kind of people mostly post on these forums.:biggthump

As for Obama supporting moderation, we will see. He is a regular left wing looney, but he has done things to at least hint that he will take a more moderate stance as President.

Nope.

i will apologize in advanced for my highly biased views against the democratic party

Obama won for obvious reasons, John McCain didn't run a strong enough campaign and was far too passive during debates. The media is horribably biased towards the democratic party and unfairly dissevered Sarah Palin. People questioned Obama's lack of experience, so he chose Joe Biden as his running mate, people pointed out McCain's age so he picked Palin as his running mate. Then, people moved their attention from Obama's qualifications, to Sarah Palin's qualifications, whom in my opinion is far more qualified to be president than Obama is to be vice president.

But OMG, Bush is a horrible president, Barack Obama is going to "Change" things. What exactly needs changing, as long as we keep a democracy, "Change" isnt going to happen.

It starts out when both parties choose their canidate, and a rush of excitement sweeps the nation, friends disagree, and you root yourself with one canidate, the false hope of "Change" enters the mind of the people, through the medium of the media. People suddenly get interested into politics, and will chose to wear shirts with someone's face on it because the media says so, without even knowing what the canidate stands for. Then comes election day, people are watching as states either turn red or blue, then, the next day, they wake up in a country where the president doesnt have the power to declare "Obamaday" as an offical holiday, he can't even add a room to the White House without throwing it through congress. We wake up in a world where Congress runs the government, and life continues.

Congress is predominantly Democratic.

Hitler was an excelent public speaker and promised the people a better Germany.

Hugo Chavez, an equally excelent public speaker, promised the people of venezuela government aid in every form imaginable

Fidel Castro promised a revolution

Joseph Stalin promised a revolution.

All these men kept their promises.

In Hitler's opinion, Germany would be a whole lot better without the jews, catholics, and gays.

Venezuela is a communist-socalist country

Cuba is now a one party socalist-communist government

Stalin "changed" Russia from what it was, to one of the world's greatest superpowers, the USSR, Union of Soviet Socalist Republics.

In my opinion, this country does not need change or reform.

Barack Obama belives in this vague thing called "late term abortions"

Week 4- a heart begins to beat
Week 7- All organs have started to develop
Week 12- Abortions occur
Week 16+ Late Term abortions occur.

Barack Obama seemed to be all over the place when it came to Energy

Very vague foreign policy, except for the fact that he wants to sit and chat with all our enemies,

And is madly in love with goverment intereference with healthcare, education, and the economy.

Oh wouldnt our founding fathers be rolling in their graves...

Well look... ok?

Obama is going to be an OK president, better than bush, but lacks experience.
He is a person who is hesitant to use the US army, and that is a bad thing.

McCain is ok... he goes for the war, which i agree on, but no entirely. He is too war based and i think that he would be a BIT better than Bush.

As Americans WE SHOULDNT CARE WHAT PARTY THEY ARE IN. As long as they do a good job, we will all be happy.

If Obama is not a good president then the USA will go from a recession to a depression and that could possibly effect the whole world! Imagine in that in the history books. I can and I if that were me I would do anything to keep a clean name.

Look... even before he is stepping into office, he is making changes. I think that Obama will get us out of the depression and energy crisis that we are in.

He has made the choices of someone with humility. He asked for outside help from those top business men. Like ShadowmasterX said, he has shown his dedication. Look at Ronald Reagan, he was an actor for gods sake and one of the best presidents there was. It doesn't pay to make prejudgments.

I'm a very liberal person, and have very liberal values (although I have no stance when it comes to abortion), and if Obama upholds his word of what he will do once he's in office, then I say he will be great.

I thought providing healthcare to nearly all of the citizens of the country was VERY important, particularly because some people in America work their butts off to have health care but still can't afford it. It's unfair, and this should be a step in the right direction.

Also, I thought taxing the rich a bit more was fair. People who earn more money should pay their share. My dad was very upset about this, but he's a selfish guy in general. Not calling the rich selfish, just my dad ;)

We've had a very conservative republican in office for the past 8 years, it definitely time for a change. He's also put a bad wrap on republicans for his shameful decisions, like vetoing the anti-torture bill, and lying to the country about Iraq's WMDs.

And when I saw this, I laffed.

He is already showing that he's not afraid to pull ranks close from all areas of politics. I mean after the last 8 years, anything is going to be better. Also, someone above mentioned that we "could" go into a depression? What would you call this?

I agree I think this might be leading to WW3 with this depression.

Depression? WWIII?
You must be joking?

Things really aren't that bad yet. The world hasn't ended.
Some lost jobs here and there, and a few worrying signs, but people are getting by just fine. You might need to give up that Hummer and your habit of bathing in Cristal in the near future.
But really now, aren't we exaggerating things just a bit?

Neither. Any presidentiable's words and propositions look good on paper. Heck, that's what the people makes them vote for a certain candidate. But until it's been all said and done, that's when you'll know if you voted for the right person or not.
