I have a hosting company (if I can call it that way) too (I will not post the link). I wonder: can I make a subdomain like host.jagf.net to it or would it be impossible? I posting it here because I don't find "the intrawebz" forum anymore...

You mean to point to your x10 site? If yes, then you can.. Login to the domain hosting company, usually where you registered it unless you changed it. And, add a CNAME record; or setup forwarding to your site.

or you could use 3rd party DNS like zoneedit.com which is my preference and you can have a true sub domain... point the subdomain ip to x10 server and add it as an add on domain and then its not a web redirect...

Ok you know what myfreeownhost is? I want my domain jagf.net point to jagf.pcriot.com (x10) and host.jagf.net to myownfreehost. Is that possible. Sry, I never had a domain before. And I don't know what CNAME is.

CNAME entries can be confusing... zoneedit allows you to just put the domain and an ip... you still have to tell apache to accept request for that name and you do that in x10 by adding an addondomain

Plz can you explain in steps what I should do. I have seen at triple.com a CNAME thing.

wherever your domain is registered define your name servers... (wherever your dns is at ns1.x10hosting.com,ns2.x10hosting.com our the ones here... zoneedit has like 20 and would be decided when you add the zone)
goto your dns and make an entry for domain.com to x10's server you're on ip found in cpanel and another sub.domain.com to your other site's ip
then tell apache to accept it... x10 you just add an addondomain in cpanel don't know your other site its just a few lines in apache's config to setup a name based virtual host ... then wait for dns to update and you're done

you could just set up a forward entry for your sub domain to that domain, but then the address bar will be reflective of the forward, I'm not familiar enough with the other host your using to give you better information...

You need to setup your name servers before you can setup cname / A records. (or any other DNS records for that matter)

Ok it is in this way. I want h.jagf.net to go to my hosting company. And I need it to be added to that hosts domain page so my members can get user.h.jagf.net instead of userssubdomain.mysubdomain.host.net because that is weird with 2 subdomains in 1. They have five nameservers.

I have set them to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com. Should I put in the 5 nameservers of that host to?

no...
then on X10 you need to make it either a parked or add on domain...

add on the sub domain at the other place...

and on X10 you need to create the CNAME entry

I have already the domain as an addon domain here. I saw on triple.com something with CNAME but I should do it here. How do I do the CNAME? And how do I do the subdomain.

Don't mean to be rude, but how are you going to handle a hosting company without even knowing the fundamentals of DNS?

I don't really support that host. It is a forum like this for all free hosts on that service. So if we call the service for host 1 then the users of host 2 and 3 etc has the support at the host 1 support forum.

that really doesn't make much sense....

ok well you need to find the ip of the other host and create a CNAME entry here pointing to that host... and there you need to park that domain name or make it an add on domain....

I trying to get the ip but they insist giving me the nameservers all the time. But what if I ping my hosting site? Would that be enough?
