Hi,
I have just purchased a new domain name for the website i host with you guys. I have changed the domain name in Direct Admin panel to a new one. Right now I am not able to access my website as i get the :

"Apache is functioning normally" notice page whether i go to old domain name or new.....

http://coolshows.x10host.com/
http://sunsetdanceshows.ca/

Could you please help, I am not sure if this is connected with dns servers update time or i have done something wrong. I have also set up the cloudflare dns servers.

Also it keeps redirecting me to an old domain...
Please Help :)

You will need to tell wordpress to not use the new address, wordpress is constructed in such way that it will always try to redirect to the url used in settings.

There are a couple options for doing that, see this article for how to do it by editing a file: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/

Optionally if you are comfortable with it you can edit the values for "siteurl" and "home" in the database, you'll find them in the table xx_options (where xx_ represents the prefix you have, often wp).

Thank you very much Anna!

That was the problem!

I have another quick question though, I have read on forum that the free account holders no longer can create secure websites? the SSL will not work with your hosting at all?

SSL was never officially supported for free hosting, I believe one or two servers had it turned on by accident for some time during some upgrade on the previous servers but it was never supposed to have been. We are looking into possibly making it available, I will make no promisses at this point however.

The option to turn it on as can be seen in DA is mostly due to the fact that with it completely disabled anyone trying to reach a site by https would come to an "Apache is working normally" page instead of the expected one. It will give a certificate error though as it would be using the server cert and not one for your domain.

If you have your custom domain you should be able to set it up with cloudflare though.
