Hi,

Your MyBB configuration file should be located in inc/config.php. ;)

I checked on the server, and it looks like your MySQL user exists, but the credentials you are using are incorrect. This would suggest an issue with your password. Please could you try resetting your MySQL password?

Thank you,

I just made a new database user and nothing changed. Also can't you try this out yourself pretty much everyone that see's this thread can.

Make sure the newly created MySQL user is hooked up with the database along with the appropriate permissions.

That post right there just pissed me off and made me feel like you think I'm stupid and didn't add the user to the database.

Oh, I apologise. I can't see what you did under your account (apart from seeing the MySQL error page) so I'm just making guesses here and to try to narrow down what the cause is.
Does the database and username match what's in the config.php folder? The credentials should all match or it won't connect.
Are you sure that the MySQL user password is correct? What I would do in this situation (when no one is looking at my screen) is to type the password in a text field that would display text as-is (like the URL bar), copy that, paste it into the password fields, save, set permissions, add the MySQL user to the database, and then paste the password that was previously copied in the config.php file where the password definition or variable is. (Note that I was just saying what I would do in this situation. Not implying that you don't know that already.)

@byowltes: Check the attitude at the door when all we're trying to do is help. We are (almost) all volunteers, and as already indicated not all of us are able to log into your account and make changes.

I fixed your issue; the issue is exactly what Dead-i indicated yesterday. Your credentials to the database user were NOT correct, despite claims to the contrary.

I fixed this by going into your configuration file for your SMF install, copied the database password from it, went into your cPanel account, and changed the password for the byowltes_me user to the copied database password.

The new error displayed is due to the software not having been installed properly as a result of the password having been incorrect during the install:
MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1146 - Table 'byowltes_mybb.mybb_datacache' doesn't exist
Query:
SELECT title,cache FROM mybb_datacache

Now that the password has been corrected, you will need to rerun the installer for the software so it can create the missing database entries.

Sorry for my rudeness I just go through phases when I'm tired.
I decided to just install mybb instead of upgrading. I didn't want to because I had 5 important files for themes and a shoutbox, but I made the smf website and the way it looks didn't turn out right..
