Hi,

I registered recently for free hosting plan.
I have my own domain name wincasinos.net but when I access it from a web browser it redirects to wincasinos.x10hosting.com

The url in the address bar changes from http://wincasinos.net (or http://www.wincasinos.net) to http://wincasinos.x10hosting.com/

How can I avoid to have the redirection visible? (so that the URL will stay http://wincasinos.net or http://www.wincasinos.net and not show http://wincasinos.x10hosting.com/)

Thanks for your help.

In your DNS manager in the redirection section there will be a option to hide actual URL
Or best way is to Park ur domain in x10 server

Point you domain to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com from domain registrar.

then open your cpanel and go in park domain section and add your domain here....

While the parked domain works fine, following your directions, I am still unsure as to how to hide the redirected url path.
For instance, if I owned giveittomenow.com and redirected to the free hosting here on x10, when I type www.giveittomenow.com I show this url in the address bar: dbantner.x10hosting.com (my free hosting url)

Is there anyway for the redirect to show the actual domain in the address bar instead of the free x10hosting url?

Thanks in advance
Dan

No I did not. SO you are saying that the hide url is a feature that come from my domain registar, like godaddy?

Ok, so I have a domain registered through godaddy.com. SO somewhere on godaddy, under my account and domain controls there is a 'Hide URL' feature. Would you mind directing me as to where I might find it. Because I've been on there for 30 mins now and cant find it.

if you park the domain in cPanel, you should not use redirect at your registrar.

What you should do is either set it to use our name servers (ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com) or add an A record to the domain (CNAME will work as well since you have your main url to be one of the ones provided by us).

For CNAME option put: wincasinos.x10hosting.com
For A record option put: 74.63.233.7

Note that the recommended method is setting name servers.
