Why does X10 advertise unlimited space, then stick you on that junky VOX server with only 512 mb of space ??

I believe you can request to increase your space the more you need it, as long as your account is in good standing and follows the Terms of Service and your site actually needs it.

Here is what it says on your signup page, in case youve never read it.
Why choose x10Hosting and what do we offer for your free website?
Unmetered disk space, unmetered transfer, cPanel 11, full control of your web hosting environment - backed by industry-leading technology. And it's all free. The real question - why not?!

No where does it say, "If we decide you deserve it and yada yada, you may apply for more space, and maybe it will be granted"
That scenario will, or should make folks reluctant to spend countless hours building a website, just to learn for whatever reason they choose, X10 refuses to grant any more space.

I haven't heard of an instance where the additional space has been denied for frivolous reasons.

Just to be curious, what sort of use do you plan for the unmetered space? 512M is quite a bit of space to start with.
