my e-mail was working fine until the recent few days now.
I was waiting before reporting it because of all the changes.
but now i can't check, send or receive at all.
i try to log in to roundcube but it only returns to the login page.
im guessing its a server issue as it did work fine before.

im on x15.x10hosting.com it is just my email thats effected,
i can still login to directadmin fine.

i dont get errors, just timed out messages and no login.
i use email.mysite.x10.bz
i tried both standard pop3 (port 110)
and the secure email (port 995)
same on both.

To my knowledge there has been no further changes regarding mails, other then outbound mails now runs through our mailserver and is checked for spam and such before actually being sent, which they also were when it was under cPanel. That should however not affect how you connect to the mail from your client.

Though, looking at your domain it appears that your domain is set to NOT use local mail though the MX records are still pointed to us, have you made any changes? It has to be set to local mail if you want mail to go through us and not a third party, and if you want to use a third party then MX has to be changed to reflect that.

Not sure why it did show as not having local, as the option was actually enabled in your useraccount, but disable and re-enable now show it as local under dns in the admin side.

For the curious you find the option to enable or disable local mail under "E-mail Manager->MX Records", it is not very logically worded however:
MX.PNG

Unchecking that little box disables local mail (some common ones does have suggested template in the dropdown as well for those that want to use third party mail)

@Anna
i just added a checkmark to
Use this server to handle my e-mails. If not, change the MX records and uncheck this option.
without a mx template. I assume that is the area you meant ??

Am i correct that changing that option changes my dns records as well ??
(meaning i have to wait for it to re-propagate before it works)

Yes, if one would want to use thirparty email you uncheck that. And change MX records.

And yes, it would affect DNS, in your case though the MX was never changed and the MX was set for our server, just that the server thought you did want mail to be handled elsewhere which would likely be why it didn't work, so shouldn't really need propagation.

@Anna
I asked about the propagation because the problem with email still remains.
Roundcube still wont open, and trying to receive email still fails without error.
i use thunderbird and mail-washer but both refuse to receive anything.
and no errors are generated they just timeout.

I will assume that the fact you wrote email.mysite.x10.bz is a typo, as the correct would be mail.mysite.x10.bz, though with the wrong hostname you would probably get something else then just the timeout.

Does it work if you put the server in as host (x15.x10hosting.com), that would also likely be the only working one for secure email as your domain would not have a certificate attached?

I can't see anything directly on your account that would prevent you from reaching roundcube or email through your client.

Roundcube loads up fine for me on that server from your account (though I can obviously not log into your email accounts).

@Anna,
yest that was a typo, i use mail.mysite.x10.bz (no 'e')

it will not work using x15.x10hosting.com either.
i tried secure port 995 and just normal port 110
but same result on both.

Roundcube itself does load up, i get the login part but thats all.
i enter my email and password, it says loading but then it just returns back to the login.
i am now seeing this error with roundcube
Connection to storage server failed
when trying to access email.
