Hi, just setup free hosting and cannot find anywhere to setup an email alias to forward to another email address?

I can see where you setup a mailbox, but just looking to setup a forwarder rather than have another mailbox to check.

Any help appreciated :)

No server forwarding, do to Send restriction. POP access is allowed.

Thanks for the reply - so just to be clear if I'm hosting with x10 then I cannot setup joe.bloggs@myx10domain.com to forward emails to joe.bloggs@gmail.com for instance?

I just want to check as that has been possible with every other provider I have encountered (admittedly they have been paid plans).

I have not seen a x10 free Directadmin, feature for fwding. I have my gmail account check the x10 email server via pop. There is a 200 email a month send restriction for x10 free. With a new paid upgrade plan. Check your dashboard for more information. https://x10hosting.com/login

Thank you, much appreciated - I thought I was just being daft and could not find it!

As the inbound emails I expect are infrequent and are not going to contain any sensitive content I found an alternate solution too (in case anyone is reading this in the future with the same query - Gmail via POP works too, this is just another option);

I used a free service from improvmx.com - essentially create an account with them, add the MX and TXT SPF records they provide using the X10 Control Panel > DNS Management and then use the improvmx.com control panel to setup whatever mail aliases / forwarders you require.

Naturally changing the DNS MX record routes all email for the domain via improvmx.com so note that you lose the ability to use any X10 mailboxes you have setup, but if all you want to do is forward this works great and allows for 'catch all' and multiple different aliases to be directed to different email addresses.

Thanks again for the help :)

Forwarding has always been available and still is. Go to your Dashboard and look for the 4 circles in a square formation for the Control Panel Navigation. Click on Email Manager to expand and forwarders option will appear. Cheers!!

It’s actually 100/day for x10 free. With some additional limits for a shorter period of time before a hold may be placed.

Is there a place where restrictions are listed. I can not find it in the TOS? I have been going by the 200 quota in the hosting control panel.

I would have to take a look, but it is officially currently at 100/day. I'm curious as towards where it is telling you 200.

on created accounts it does say 0/200 under the text that says sent.
showing the limit per email account is 200

i believe what the op is looking for is a way to forward from address 1 to address 2
according to the documentation, "forwarders" needs to be enables by x10 staff.

therefore the feature is not enabled by default.
i can send a note to a staff member to review this post.
you may need to wait a while for a reply due to availability

That is not the true limit though. It is still bound by the 100/day limit from the whole account.

I do not want to digress further from the main topic, however, that is not the place to be looking for the limit. While the specific mailbox you created has a limit of 200, the whole account is subject to a 100/day limit which can be seen from /user/stats/usage

If you have not sent any emails today, it will look confusing as DirectAdmin does not handle displaying the limit correctly.

100/day
