Though I see people on Stoli mentioning the issue and how it appears random, I'm over on Chopin experiencing the same thing.

As for when it happens...
It occurs in my current installation of TikiWiki (as well as previous installations).
It happens most frequently while modifying admin settings, though I have experienced it also in the wiki and forum sections.

In comparison, I have never had a 500 error on my AEF (Advanced Electron Forum) installation.

Although I no longer have the installations, phpNuke had a lesser frequency of 500 errors and Joomla never yielded the errors for me.

I hope this is helpful in sorting out the issue. Although I'm content with refreshing the pages for now... it is rather frustrating and I'm not imagining the membership enjoying it terribly much when I have them move over.

... on the upside, you have me considering your paid hosting to rectify the issue if this isn't resolved in time XD

Is there anything we can do on our end to help out with the issue? For example, is it a waste for me keeping a record of my 500's time and address or would these be beneficial (let alone how to get them to you.. meh.. later on).

Trying to assist as much as noting that my account is also enjoying the 500s.

Thanks as always, mates.

Hello,

Are you still seeing this? The servers were upgraded shortly before your post, and as of yesterday we have turned on the resource usage monitoring script which will suspend anyone abusing the service, thus more resources should be available.

I did notice some slowness in opening your sites though, and will check if that applies to other sites on Chopin as well.

Looks like I likely had convenient timing, then. Also, nice to hear you folks got the Ban Hammer back out for the abusive users. Between the change you mentioned and the abusers taking a hike, I have had none of the 500 errors since. I continue to have some mysql errors where the site cannot seem to access the DB in a timely fashion, but these are rather uncommon compared to every other page at times with the 500 errors.

In the end, good work as usual by x10 folks. Thanks for getting it sorted out :)

Conveniently... a short time later i got another 500 error. The error was at iharemehn.co.cc in the admin section of a TikiWiki 5.1 install via Softaculous. I note all of this as... I was then referred to a suspension page for resource hogging. I was using a search feature in the admin controls.. so I won't try that again, but is this a known issue with TIkiWiki? And if so.. are there ways to lessen the load of heavy load functions (I'm assuming search features in tiki are... intense...)? I am willing to disable the search on the whole of the website, but as you can imagine.. it would be a useful feature.

Awaiting your reply and avoiding the search button,

Ken.

500 errors are back again. tikiwiki install while deleting a forum and while opening an edit page for a wiki entry.. perhaps this is related to the backend work you are doing over there... I hope so... as that means these will go away :) Anywho, just keeping things up to date. :)

I had hoped the posted mysql update would help, but seeing as it is exactly as annoying as it has been all day, I have returned.

500 errors are plaguing me as badly as originally. Looking at probably 1 in 3 page loads for myself. The same was witness by a Canadian mate and another in another state, so I'm taking a guess it's not me or my network.

If it is my site, PLEASE let me know so I can do something to fix it or seek an alternative. I've no reason to be running a site this full of 500 errors. Please give me a hand if it's my fault somehow. All information is yours to have if it helps the issue. I love being here, but this is really starting to get to me now :/ Thanks. Ken.

Okedoke... last comment on the issue was on the 11th (thank you Anna).. and since then, the issue has gotten worse as noted in previous posts... can anyone give me a heads up if this is my site, my install, the server, a deity rolling dice, or anything to go on to try and resolve this?

The wiki has a decent set of pages to bounce around in to encounter the error.

Just as a recap and update showing continued issues, 500 internal errors encountered in admin panel, forums, wiki viewing, wiki editting, config and setting changes.

.... he's hoping. Thanks folks :/ Or any other tikiwiki users contact me via the site if you're going through or went through the same issues.
