.exe and Zip file downloads

Is it ok to to offer exe and or files as downloads for part of our web sites legitiamate content?

We were planning on keeping a copy of the conficker virus removal tool online where those who are infected would be able to download a copy as this virus blocks access to most antivirus providers and established download sources we thought it would be a sensible idea.
