Hello,

I am trying to set up a subdomain of a domain that I own elsewhere to point to my hosting account on this site. I have created a CNAME record on that domain that points to the address of my X10 site. However, when I attempt to use this subdomain to access my X10 site, I get redirected to X10's "website coming soon" page. If I type in the "native" address of the X10 site (***.x10.mx), it loads my site normally; only the external subdomain is not loading the right page.

Am I doing something wrong? Apparently something is working because the subdomain is getting me to X10, but why won't it take me to my website?

The domain is xtremestudios.net. I am attempting to point bmis310.xtremestudios.net to my X10 account, without affecting the rest of the xtremestudios.net domain.

Did you add it as an add on domain or as a parked domain?

I tried to add it as a parked domain, but it gave me an error saying that the domain's nameservers were not set correctly. I do have an A record on that domain, pointing the bmis310 subdomain to one of X10's nameservers, but it does not appear to be working. Obviously, changing the nameserver of the whole domain (thus redirecting the entire domain to X10) is not an acceptable solution in this case.

Your nameservers point bmis310.xtremestudios.net to 99.198.122.2 which is not the IP of your account. It is the IP of ns1.x10hosting.com .

They should point to 198.91.81.4 , which is the server you are on.

As I recall, that was what I originally tried to do, but it only redirected me to X10's "website coming soon" page, not to my account.

You had them pointed correctly and then added it as a parked domain (and the system did not complain)? Then you removed it as a parked domain?

Sorry, let me clarify. I originally pointed the A record to 198.91.81.4, but if I recall, the system still would not allow me to add it as a parked domain. I can try that setup again, in case I had done something out of order previously.

I attempted to point the A record back to 198.91.81.4, but the system still will not allow me to add it as a parked domain, and it still redirects just to X10Hosting's "website coming soon" page.
