All you gotta do is download firefox when they email you, and then see if we broke a world record for the most software downloaded in a day.
(Follow the link to pledge your download)

Good luck firefox. Do they have any idea who holds the record currently? Cause I can't seem to find it on their site.

Wow, 9000 downloads from the USA.

Look at the image under the text: People who've pledged
(my country only 55, but it has only 16 million people)

I've just signed up.
The total for my country (UK) is around 900 at the moment. And the US has just gone over 10,000.

I've signed up. Hopefully on download day this means that the servers won't be dead. That won't be good good if they're slow or dead :p

Haha I'm sure they've got plenty of bandwidth to spare for us for an event like this

Yes I'm sure they'll plan ahead for their servers and such BUT I can almost guarantee that 30%+ will not pledge, but will still download such as casual users. (Ex: My dad)

It just needs to gain more popularity on Digg, then I'm sure tons of people would pledge, if not multiple times.

I didn't dig deep enough to try to find a release date, if they even have one. If you gave them a valid email they will email you the day they release firefox 3.

There is no record: Mozilla is trying to create one. :)

I've pledged. I need to download it 3 times - one for my Vista PC, one for my old PC and one for PortableApps. I'm also trying to convince my parents.

Yes, i have given them a valid email address. USA still holding the leadership. (at 32K), then germany (wtf, 9000), sorry, polen goes first (with 400 more). Samoe has only 4. (it is a very small island, the most right island from Australia. )

Found the answer! There isn't currently a record holder!
Quote:
"This is the first record attempt of its kind so there is no set number. We'd really like to outdo the number of Firefox 2 downloads on its launch day, which was 1.6 million. Let's shoot for 5 million--the sky is the limit!"

But then there is an apparent contradiction o_O
"When will we find out if we’ve officially set the record? This will take approximately a week after our attempt date. Our judges and Guinness World Records™ need to review our download logs and validate our record attempt."

But maybe that's just to try and get a set number...

I have to download it 9 times! 6 for my computers here, two for a family relative's computer, and another computer which I maintain. There's also a few more computers I may do, bring it up to 15 maybe.
