Form Mail not sending

Hi, I have a contact me form on my site and have it set up to send to an external email ( @gmail.com) and when the form is filled out by a user no email is sent.. I have the same problem in a forum that i added for new users to log in they must confirm /verify their email . Once the form is filled out, a message on the site states the email was sent successfully but nothing actually arrives.. Please advise

Hello, you should use external SMTP mail server, you can find some for free (google).

Why do I need to use an external smtp server, I thought this host had that available already? Im confused...

Which email address are you sending your emails from? Please make sure you're sending your emails from an address that is present on your account.

Hello, you should use external SMTP mail server, you can find some for free (google).

@lucassox: We don't allow connections to external SMTP servers on free hosting, as far as I know.

Ok lol .. thank you guys for responding, but i am totally clueless here... there are two separate email issues ... my template for my page came with a contact us form on it, so I set it up to send any messages that were sent from that form to go to my personal email address not an (x10host.com) email address ... the second issue is that i installed a user forum thru softaculous ... when a new user signs up to use the forum , the forum prompts the user for an email verification, however when i tested this function, there is no email sent out to the registering user... which means they are unable to verify and can not log in to the forum etc etc ... Based on what you guys are saying im getting the impression that there is another type of server involved that X10 doesnt offer? If thats true why are these things implemented into the templates and apps that are auto installed on x10's user panels ... im sorry if this seems foolish ... i just was kinda expecting a plug and play sort of environment in that regard because it was basically all set up for me already... What should or can I do to fix these problems.. I am new to all this so please be as specific as possible.. thank u so much for your help

oh and Dead-I you said send emails from an email that is on my account... do i need to create the x10 email addy or is it already done at the time i sign up ... how would i find out what or where it is?

I found the area to create the x10 email address , i just checked the forum and it appears to working now, i can not test the form page on the site because i cant access the sitebuilder to update the email address on the page...
