Hello, I hope someone can help me. I've had a freebie domain that I use to forward to my main domain and a couple of weeks ago it just upped and quit working? I'm not sure that it was exactly at the same time when I upgraded my account to the $12 yearly deal but if not, it was really close.

Basically, what I have always done and had worked great right up until now was:
https://opensourcesetups.x10.mx is the domain I have my site at.
https://opensetups.ml used to forward there no problem, but no longer does.

I've tried about everything I can think of including:
  • Using the registrar's ns servers and pointing A records to the ip of my x10 site "198.91.81.14".
  • Using a cname with my registrar pointing to x14.x10hosting.com then using the x10 NS records: "ns1.x10hosting.com, ns2.x10hosting.com" along with the A records pointing to the ip of my site "198.91.81.14" from here.
  • Originally, I had the x10 nameservers plugged in with my registrar "ns1.x10hosting.com, ns2.x10hosting.com" and then A records and a redirect setup here at x10. That worked perfectly for a long time before it didn't?

I've tried disabling SSL, forcing SSL, I flush my dns constantly on my end and I installed an extension the lets me clear the browsers cache with the click of a button.

The only other change I made was that I briefly installed "Matomo" from Softaculous in a subdirectory to try it out. That has been uninstalled and gone for a while now, but I do still have a 2nd SQL database still hanging around from it if that could be it?

I don't know what else to try at this point I'm completely stumped?

A lookup on that .ml domain gives me:
"Whois Record Not Available
This domain is not registered."
You may need to check with the registrar what is going on with that domain, because in a state where it shows as unregistered to the world it will not work.

.ml domains no longer work as the .ml contract with Freenom had expired leading to those domains being reclaimed.

Ah, okay. That would explain it. Good thing I didn't use that domain for my site like I thought about! Trying to sweet talk someone from the Mali government into giving me my domain back doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.

I think I remember hearing about Facebook going after Freenom because they were pretending to care about spam or hoping everyone would forget how their platform has undermined democracy and enabled at least 4 genocides so far.

Just when you think it isn't possible to dislike a company anymore, they go and take it as a challenge.

Thank both of you for the help, I went and bought a ".win" domain to forward. Is there some way I can mark this solved or something? Just in case someone else runs into this issue.
