Notepad++ offers syntax highlighting to developers of a large range of programming languages. And it is Opensource.

Just discovered eyeOS for cloud computing, very interesting, provides a Linux style environment through your web browser, with the exception of a terminal.

Adobe is now contributing to Opensource with their Adobe Flex SDK
which uses the same framework used in the premium product called flash builder.

check out portableapps.com

Versions of some big open source or free software apps such as firefox, pidgin, and open office that can be ran without any installation. Extremely useful for installing on a usb stick and taking to other PC's (my work is pretty draconian about installing software)

Short Description: Now A days, there are lots of firewall availabe on internet but only few of them are working best. I personally apply all of them to find out a best and free for me. Most of them make your pc perfomance slower and don't even work as your need. At last I discover a firewall that will keep your PC faster and safe. Yes, It is COMODO. Workig best for me. I find my computer as fast as it is New.

Operating Systems: Xp SP1/ SP2/ SP3, visa, windows 7

Beautiful!! Commodo firewall is a lot better than ZoneAlarm.
Definitely for the more paranoid user as it asks you for every single registry edit, program run etc.
It includes a sandbox which is useful and also allows you to use their secure and safe DNS servers!
