Hi,
I am trying to access my account via FTP, the login is fine but when it goes to load the directories. I am not having any troubles with FTP on any other server. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
Okay I will tell you exactly what is happening. I recieve no real "error message".

I use CoreFTP and I opened it and clicked start for my account.

It logs in no problem, but once it hits that point where it loads the file directories, it just stays blank and a few seconds later the red "timeout" appears in the status window.

I notice your "keep alive" is off, haver you tried it with it on ? I dont know if that will make a difference but that would be the first thing I would try if it was timing out on me.

Have you tried using your url name instead of the ip address, or do you have to use the ip ?

I have been using spunky-online.com for the address, I have not used any IP. I am going to try to download Smart FTP to see if it works..

Are you using windows xp sp2 for an operating system ? If so turn of the firewall in xp and that might let you through.

EDIT: you can also go here and see there faq sheet that might help http://www.coreftp.com/

I have just checked the server status and ftp is up and running fine. I cant see it being a problem on our end. Do you use firewalls ? or have you tried turning of the one in xp if thats the o/s you are using ?

My computer is running XP, I have not tried turning off the OS firewall but my zonealarm is off. I just find it weird that, that would be the problem because I have used this computer everyday for hte past few days that I have had my account here and there was no problem.

I'll restart the FTP server to see if that helps.

i think some of the virus programs can be obstructed to the access to your ftp client, try to reconfigure your firewall and double check for your anti virus program.

I really am about 100% positive that its not a problem on my end because I am not the only one experiencing it..
