I have been trying for the past week to get FTP working for my site, but although my username and password are correct, I consistently get the error after my password is accepted: "421 Home directory not available. Could not connect to server". I've verified the password is correct. I've used the auto configuration files for filezilla, but to no avail. (By the way, your autoconfig files do not insert any user login info, port, or method of ftp, so the instructions which explain it is a one-stop procedure are incorrect.) I've changed the password yet again to make sure it's correct. Still nothing. I've copy the remote home directory in FileZilla to be /home/ouatvsel/public_html as shown in the PATH in CPanel. From the error itself, I'm guessing the directory in the path does not exist.

UPDATE: I just tried creating another new ftp account. It has the same problem; the home directory does not exist. Nor does /home/ouatvsel/public_html by itself or /home/ouatvsel/. Would someone please get me the correct info as soon as possible? I would really, really appreciate it. Thank you!!

UPDATE #2: Okay now I'm freaking out because my site no longer exists. Holy crud, what is happening. Please, someone get back to me asap. Thank you!

in FileZilla I use [ \public_html ] for the "Default remote directory"

CAUTION: Your IP can be blocked by x10hosting's firewall - for too many "Failed" FTP logins in a short period of time

Are you connecting to FTP using your cPanel username (ouatvsel) and password?
