has anyone else seen this user agent in their log-files? Is this a malicious bot (it acts like a bot)?

I see it accessing my forum with multiple IP's from the same block at the same time. and the browser shows up as being AOL(MSIE) or MSN(MSIE). Is it a malicious bot?

If it is a malicious bot, can it be blocked via .htaccess using the user agent?

it's a malicious bot, and you should be able to block it in cPanel (IP deny manager), or in .htaccess
