Geeks Make the Best Lovers?

Oh my. I'm curious what the crowd here at x10 would think about this. Are Geeks the best lovers? How about artistes? What about the quiet, stable sorts that have normal (cough boring) little lives, doing things like banking, accounting, etc.?

I can say, from experience, that #1, #2, #3, and #5 are outright lies. And sometimes, #7 is wrong, when the nerd/geek is not really doing what they enjoy doing with their lives. Occassionally, a person has to take a job doing something boring that they hate to pay the bills.

So? What do yall think?

I actually registered at this website a year ago. Nerds and Geeks are not the same things. Geeks are just idiots that are socially retarded and get A's in school while getting an F at life. Nerds are completely different. They may get an A or F in their classes, they mostly care about other things like computers, books, philosophy, etc. Geeks is harder for them to get a girlfriend because of their social retardation, and their lack of knowledge of life. Nerds is easier for them to get a girlfriend because of their knowledge of how woman work.

You can see this in school. I would considered a nerd, especially when I was in high school. In high school I would get F's and D's. My only A's and B's were P.E. When people met me outside of school they would see that I would learn other things that I thought were important like writing critically with good writing composition, computer fields (UNIX, Windows, Web Programming, Office [pressing F1 is easier than taking a ****ty high school class]) and some philosophical things.

My friend would be considered a geek, he was socially retarded up until I told him to get the hell out of his house.

Just to clarify, I could be wrong. This is just an observation I made from my own experience in High school and college.

To add to your argument. Every man is about the same. A geek would act about the same as any other man because of their basic needs. They would probably be better at sex, maybe not.

My geek friend has a girlfriend and he acts the same as any other person. He checks out other woman, he argues and is not submissive, he sometimes makes the woman cry. It happens with everyone.

The thing is that all men think the same way. However, the priority and the knowledge is not in the same place for every men. I myself can be classified as a nerd, and never had a girlfriend. But it's not because I couldn't, it's because I did not see any value into it. When I'll fell that I am ready, that I see a value into having a deeper relationship with someone, I'll invest myself into finding a relation that I will enjoy, and that will be enjoyable.

Not all intelligent minds would be what I call socially "retarded" I have met many intelligent people that can probably get him/herself a nobel prize while woo-ing a person to get in bed with him/her. I know of many unintelligent people who can not see himself or herself to get any friends. It is a matter of how you were brought up really. My parents are not shy, and tend to be open about their personal life and I seem to reflect that.

You mean jock and a scientist? I know quite a few ex-jock football types who graduated from high school with a sports-based scholarship, which they used to pay for undergrad. They went on to go to medical school and many become sports medicine specialists. I even know one that's doing MD/PhD (which is super hard and uber competitive, and requires more discipline than I can conjure ) Jocks aren't always stupid.

Also I've known of plenty of ex-military who do geeky/nerdy things like D&D, as well as scholarly things like research and professorship. Hell, my soon-to-be father-in-law is ex-air force and worked as a bio-researcher for the military. He's a professor now with tenure, and mostly teaches education and psychology.

I think the point kefka was trying to make was that categories can be fuzzy in the real world. People exist as points in a spectrum rather than chips in a stack, if you get my meaning.

The insult comes from people who call me "socially retarded." After all, I get top marks in class (Geeks) While I find it hard to get a girlfirend and find other thing are more important in life (Nerds). Also I think that there is a lack of understanding in the general public. On one forum I get get called "retard" all the time.

It is hard to say, but one thing is clear: Being called a nerd by those who actually know what it means is a good thing (means smart, dedicated) and being called a geek is a bad thing. Nerds definitely have no problems getting girls, at least no more than other people. Geeks do, because tech or whatever they obsess over becomes their life. Both things don't come at the expense of the other, nor do you need to worry about being a geek as a disease or a label for life. If you feel you need more social time, go ahead, and you won't be a geek anymore (if you are one). Its nothing feel insecure about, it is just a call for some changes.

Just to tie it back to the original topic a bit:

Are you saying that geek/nerds have a greater chance at success in life, because they embrace talents less dependent on physical health and well-being?

Wouldn't a greater chance at success in life seem like a rational reason for why a girl would pursue a geek/nerd rather than a popular jock?

Furthermore, why aren't nerds and geeks popular in school, classically? (There are cases of nerds and geeks that are popular, but how frequent is that?)

Ah Ha!!! You have hit the nail on the head. I don't think most people can be completely "pigeon-holed" into any one "label"

Once upon a time, I belonged to Toastmasters International. The first speech a new member has to give is called "The Ice Breaker", in which you get to talk about the topic you should know better than anyone else - yourself.

As I started a little reflection on who I am, what I like, what I value, and my interests, I found that much like the list above, I am made up of a bunch of seeming contradictions.

Since one of the "labels" that fits me at times is indeed "geek" I guess I'll simply defer my answer to the original question by replying: "You'd have to ask my wife"
