Getting : Error establishing a database connection while opening my site

Hi,
While I'm trying to open my website I'm getting the error Error establishing a database connection. But 5 minutes back it was opening correctly. I made no changes to the site.
Why is this so?

I have the same problem. My site is still down cause of a database error. It is clearly NOT fixed yet.

Same problem with Wordpress on my website, it just broke by itself so appears to be a server problem

They should at least put up a Server Maintenance Notice or update their service status blog.

Yeah, indeed. It's quite frustrating, especially because things like drupal ("PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1040] Too many connections in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of /home/********/public_html/Drupal/includes/lock.inc)."), joomla and wordpress don't work because of the database problem.

Huge Bump! It needs to be looked at by admin.
I agree it appears to be server level as when I try to get to MySQL from C-Panel there is an error.
I'm sure x10 will fix it but we'll just have to wait ... and wait...

Hi, thank you for reporting this. I've given MySQL a kick so it should be working for now, and forwarded the issue to our administration so the root cause of the issue has can be investigated.
