Google site submission help...

I have tried to submit my site to google, I have uploaded a blank .html page to the root of the site named as they tell you to. However, all I get every time is this:

We've detected that your verification file returns a status of 400 (Bad request) in the header.:dunno:

I have tried searching for an answer to no avail. Somebody said that the .htaccess file needs modifying, if anybody knows exactly what must be added/changed, I would appreciate it greatly if they could help me ;-)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. The file in question is 644 along with all the other files in that directory...should they be 777?

edit: tried chmodding to 777, same result...

For me did 755 work. Maybe you have uploaded something wrong or in a wrong directory? Try to upload everything again. Be sure to check the adress is right. It should be exofire not axofire

LOL...haha, yes your right, I'd put in axofire by mistake:nuts:.
