Have you ever been banned?

lol turtlearage.... anyways im one time i got a permanent ban in CSS and how it happened and what happened after were both funny and suprising... i started swearing at this guy for crashing a vehicle in game cuz (usually there vehicles) he said i suk at driving it and i let him on since i wasnt 2 sure wat i was doing.... next thing i know were drowinig in water and i start swearing at him. Then as fate would have it he isnt just any old admin he is the admin, ownz the servers and the clan... like 5 servers. I got a permanent ban from that specific one and later that day i was playing on one of the other servers when i saw a member from their clan online, i asked about getting unbanned he said it was probably permanent, and i said is there any way to directly apologize to him and next thing you know i hear the the dude that banned me telling me he will unban me cuz he was reading my messages on this server. Lukily if he had been really mad and gone and banned me on all 5 i wouldnt of stood a chance of getting back on. Now though were cool, and i play in my free time on those exact same servers. And they all lived happily ever after. THE END

I was nearly banned for my replies being one word, which was usually 'Word". Now I type more words, and actually try and be constructive.... I can be constructive.

As long as the short posts have some significance to them, you usually won't get infractions or bans for them. Although, however meaningful a post can be, I still don't think a one-word post will be considered anything more than spam.

Instead of just stating "Word," you may want to include why you agree with the person that posted above you.

Also, don't post one-liners in Crossfire, or else the mighty Kayos will pwn you.

Banned from what? I've been banned from game servers, forums, chat rooms, etc. Anyone can start one of those and since they own it, sadly they're able to ban who they want even without a valid reason. The admin of a game server may falsely accuse you of cheating, or you can be in a banned IP address range before you've even signed up to a certain forum, or joined a game server.

I remember that a long time ago I was a member of a forum where the owner was holding a contest for a spare laptop of his. I think it was determined by post count or amount of referrals or something. Well, after I had posted a lot, and I think referred some people, he removed all references that had ever been made to the contest. When I politely asked what happened to it, I was banned, with no way to contact him. I believe I tried via proxy a few times and I don't remember getting anything but another ban. Finally, an MSN contact of mine who was a member of the forum asked him about it, and he made up something that I can't exactly remember. I just remember it being a load of crap, a 100% false explanation of my ban. Another thing he mentioned was that he closed the contest due to some member or members cheating. If that's true, I'm not sure why he wouldn't just disqualify the cheaters... I don't think he ever referred to me specifically as a cheater yet I remember that it certainly seemed as if he was indirectly calling me one. I didn't cheat, by the way.

I don't remember exactly due to how long ago this was, but what I probably told him via a proxy was that, despite me not being very upset about the contest being closed, it was unfair for him to mislead people that way. If I recall correctly, his forum only gained his activity due to this contest, and he tried to act like he never started it after he had achieved his goal of getting people posting and advertising for him.

I'm strict because I care. However, most of the time I only give out warnings. Other mods go gun-hoe and will just infract you.

If you zoom in on the text size enough, nothing will be a one-liner. Also, it's more difficult to not write one-liners now because the default text size got smaller.

I've almost got enough infraction points for a ban once where I accidentally posted a porn image. Well, it was hotlinking protection of the site owner, and the site owner had been mean to make all hotlinking images to be changed with porn lol xD. I have now learned a lesson, and I never hotlink anything anymore xD.

Otherwise, I've never been banned.

You probably weren't banned for revealing the truth, you were banned because you likely did so in a violent, harassing, or offensive manner.
