HELP ME!i dnt understand nothing

Hi all,as i nearly finished school..my teacher was talking about web hosting...as i wanted to learn more i decided to come on with x10hosting.....i have knowledge in vb6.0 ms office..some html coding too
but i dnt understand how to upload my stuff onto the site

put your html files in /public_html/

i'll expand a bit on leafpiggy's post...

once you've logged into stoli (cPanel), click the icon that says "File Manager".
that brings up a menu. choose the "Web Root (public_html/www)" radio button
and click ok.

that brings up a file explorer.
at the top, the 4th or 5th icon across is "Upload". click that. it brings up another
window which allows you to browse your hard drive and upload files.
click "Add Another Upload Box" to upload all your files for the site.

you'll see the files begin to upload and a % progress indicator is shown. once
all files are 100%, you can close the window. you should see your files in
the explorer view. navigate to your site, and if your html code works, you'll
see your webpage.

tbh...i live in mauritius......we learn english at school and this language is ****(not to offense you)coz i dnt understand it.....i write a simple english so sry if my grammar is bad

ive managed to do these changes and now how can i change the background.....

the probs with the change ive made is simple as ive edit the html code in the cPanel file manager.....its too simple....
i have write an html code saved it on my pc and upload it but nothing apeared -.-

ok, depends how you're changing the background. i'm assuming you're using css?
the likely reason you don't see any changes is because of browser cache.
you'll need to clear that.

Firefox: Tools -> Clear Private Data -> Uncheck everything and check "Cache"

IE: I have no idea...
