I recently had an issue with my account and contacted help to get it restored. Now I can login and it's my understanding that "free hosting" doesn't have access to the cPanel, but rather direct admin, also my website still shows "Apache is functioning normally" (http://x13.x10hosting.com/).

I'm unable to access the direct admin panel and when I go directly to my domain: lchsweb.x10host.com it says to, To change this page, upload your website into the public_html directory." I'm using DW and I'm able to connect and upload files to the server; however, I'm unable to view them.

What am I missing? Please advise.

"Apache is functioning normally" is to be expected on the servers base domain (http://x13.x10hosting.com), as there is no site on that address.

Your website address which is lchsweb.x10host.com is the only place you should expect your content to show.

The notice you are seeing is from the default index.html file that was created by the server, you can safely delete this file and replace with your own index file. Note that if you have uploaded an index.php the .html file will still have priority and show if you keep both.

When you are uploading files are you putting the files in /domains/lchsweb.x10host.com/public_html/?

What host are you using to connect DW to the server?

Are you seeing your files if you look in DirectAdmin in the above mentioned path?

What error message, if any, do you get when you go to DA through the SSO page (https://x10hosting.com/sso/login) (the cpanel button does take you to DA)? Clearing cache/cookies may help resolv connection issues, you only need to clear x10hosting related session cookies.

Are you trying to access DA in any other way then through the SSO page?

This may or may not help, but i also use DW version is cs5 that i have,
ive had the same settings for over 3 years now, and had no issues.

under basic options:
for my server name i have "x15.x10hosting"
for connect using i have "FTP"
for ftp address i use "ftp.mywebsite.domain
for username and password i use the same as this forum account login info.
root directory is set to "public_html/"
website url is "http://website.domain/"
under 'more options' i also check off "use passive ftp"
then save.

i have no trouble uploading and viewing my correct site files.
if i use an index.php instead of index.html i use an htaccess file.
i add this "DirectoryIndex index.php" to the .htaccess in my root public_html folder.
that makes browsers default to loading my index.php instead of index.html.

depending on your DW version, those settings above should work.
of course you would use the server name to your account,
like if your on the x11 server use "x11.x10hosting" etc.
