Home folder lost after boru upgrade

My account is one of those affected by boru upgrade. I don't quite understand the description in the message on how to retrieve my folder from backups. Could you supply more details on the exact steps, or point to FAQs or tutorials on how to do that. Thanks.

Hello,

The ONLY thing you can retrieve at this point is databases, if you have any.
Files are sadly completely lost unless you already have backups of them on your local computer.
