Hosting Account Status Still Pending

I have waited 18 and a half hours and my hosting account is still not active. I was just wondering whether this was normal and how long will it be until it becomes active. Cheers.

New account creations are taking an unusually long time at the moment due to a large number of new account requests.
It could take 48 to 72 hours, though hopefully it will be quicker.
