hello guys,

i'm trying to host some files (some copyrighted materials on my local machine)
by redirecting my subdomain to my ip(localhost),

for example, TEST.MYDOMAIN.COM to 123.123.123.123,

internet -> x10 -> localhost

my question is,
will i get suspended by doing this? (not hosting files on x10 server)

thanx in advance

Linking to copyright protected materials which you do not hold the copyright for, or have written permissions to redistribute, is just as bad as having them in your account and will get you suspended.

hi, thanx for the quick reply.

can i add a follow question?
:)

how about putting the links on my local machine?,
for example : x10 is just pointing to my ip address(local server) and but the links and the data are from my local server?.

or you mean its still the same(suspendable)?

Say it is copyrighted story from the New York Times. You can link to the New York Times website and have your users read it there.

If it is a copyrighted song, say by the Grateful Dead. You can supply a link to dead.net where they can download a legal copy. You cannot supply any link to a site that offers up bootleg copies.

In other words, if X does not have the legal right to distribute the material, it is theft. Supplying links to such sites makes you an accomplice to theft. x10hosting will not join in. Your account will be closed and you will not get anything back.
