I discovered x10Hosting from another website I used to regularly visit (since closed) that was hosted on the old, OLD Stoli server (the one which always gave us problems).

What's wrong with FTP? I think it's better anyway.

The integration with Windows is pretty nice, just drag and drop. There's really not a big different between the two, I suppose.

Ehh. I guess everybody has their own preferences. I just don't really like Webdisk.

lol I find that sort of funny, because that's just like saying that you don't like the graphical folder interface in Windows.

Yup.

I don't like Webdisk because it's hard to set permissions, not many functions, and I really don't like the folder view lol.

oooh.

I never have a reason to edit these permissions. I just usually upload documents and images through Webdisk.

Some forum software requires certain permissions on certain files or directories.

Oh. I don't use forum software, so I never have to deal with that stuff.

But I think I do remember something like that before when I did use forum software - I had to edit permissions for a theme folder because a script wasn't given permission to place an image file into that folder or something like that.

Lol, how did discovering x10hosting lead to forum permissions? Oh well, this is the off topic forums :)

Yeah, similar story here. I googled and ended up at free-webhosts.com and went through the list, checked all the TOS, and looked at the reviews. I decided this was the best deal :)
