How To Backup Your Free Hosting Website at x10Hosting

Step One:
Login to cPanel
Go to File Manager
Go to your public_html directory
Select all files
Compress all files into a zip archive using the compress icon
Close the popup window
Select the zip archive you just created and download it

Step Two:
Go to phpMyAdmin in cPanel
Click on export tab
On the left select Export / Select All
Scroll down to bottom
You will see "Save As File".
You can rename this file if you wish
I suggest leaving compression set to "None"
Click on the Go button on the right

If you have a large DB, I would suggest compression (gzipped). Reduces to about 20% of the original.

Valid point. I prefer not to use compression on DB files because I always seem to have issues restoring them if they are ever compressed. But, that is just my experience. Your mileage may vary.

Your site loads, although a little slow.¨
Since it is still on the old server, I'd advice against making changes just yet, as the changes you make from now on would not be automatically transferred over.

seems like ive asked a question that a few needed answering !

i think i will wait at least 24 hours before thinking about doing anything with the web site

so fingers crossed the work will all go smootley and then hopefully back to normal?

ps thanks anna for helping with good info yet again:smile:
