Log into http://x10hosting.com/control/

Then go here.

https://x10hosting.com/control/?hosting&modify

If you're currently using a subdomain, uncheck the box that says "Use an x10Hosting subdomain as my account's main domain "

and type your new domain in the box below.

Then click "Update my main domain"

This will change your main domain to a new one.

Make sure your new domain has the nameservers set to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

1. Go to your domain registrar (ie GoDaddy or wherever), log into your account and it should have a "Manage your Domain" type area. You want to set the DNS (Domain Name Servers) to
ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

2. Log into the Account Panel at https://x10hosting.com/control/login.php

Depending on if you want to be able to get to your site via johnberkey.x10hosting.com

3a. No. You want to get rid of johnberkey.x10hosting.com as an address
"Hosting" menu item. "Modify service" sub-choice. Click
Uncheck "Use an x10Hosting subdomain as my account's main domain"
Fill in domain name.
Click "Update Domain"
It may take a little time for the system to process your request.
If you get an error message, please note it and repost here.

3b. Yes. You want to get to the site either way
"Free Hosting active username cPanelUserName » View Details " Click
Should bring up a page with a button to take you to cPanel
On cPanel, Domains section, Parked Domains choice, click
Fill in form and click "Add Domain"

4. Either way, the way DNS works, it might take you 24-36 hours to have the update spread through the system. Some people will be able to see the site with the new address right away, some will take a day or two.

5. If you wanted to keep johnberkey.x10hosting.com and add your new domain as a completely different site, in 3b above, you want to make the new domain an "add-on" domain, which will put the files in a subdirectory of public_html.
