We know it's coming. Regardless of how you feel about the new president (and everybody here knows how much I hate the guy), the fact remains that we'll be in the honeymoon period for a few months at least. Everything will be just peachy with the soccer moms, facebookers, and college professors everywhere.

But after the novelty of "change" has worn off, how long do you think it'll take before the media starts after this guy? Granted, studies have shown that the media is much more tolerant of liberal politicians, but remember that there was almost unanimous support in the popular press for George Bush after both his election and reelection.

I'm placing my bets on two months from now, unless some long-buried skeleton in ol' Biraq's closet comes out soon.

Really, I think some of them have already started...
But, I think the serious attacks will come as soon as he actually does something, or takes action over something in one way or another.
For instance, he says he'll start pulling the troops out of Iraq in July. So, if that is the first thing he does after inauguration, then that will be what the media sharks attack him for.

If George Bush left the White House with just a 20% approval rating, I doubt the media would WANT to attack Obama. He said he'd bring change, after all.

Hmmm.... I'm not sure it will happen. I'm sure a few will, but I have a hard time seeing this because Obama is the media God. They love him. I suppose if they can't find anything else to destroy, they might cook up a story for him.
All I can say is Welcome to the Socialist States of America.

I'm guessing within two months. No matter how many good or bad moves there are, the media is simply out there to make money, report the info yeah, but money, yes. They will always find something to critisize on, as would anyone else.

Yes, even if there isn't something bad with obama, the media would invent something bad...
Edit:
BTW, which person voted: "Never! Praise our Beloved Leader, for it is he who makes the sun shine!" ?

I'm gonna get ya for that one
Ok, not really...:)
Edit:
Seriously, would you really of said that if you lived in the U.S.?

Obviously the sarcasm of that poll option is meant as a joke but there is still a meaning behind it. I know there were many people who obeyed George Bush on every decision with out questioning it once.

We've learned now, first hand no less, that kind of mentality caused this country many problems. The checks and balances failed due to it.

Learning from out past we should never repeat those mistakes but I have a feeling that it will happen again. Maybe not in this presidency but in future ones.

Now, I am an avid Obama supporter and I agree with most of the issues but would I ever support him unconditionally? Nope.

Does this mean he'll never get bad press? No way. Every single president had bad press at one point or another due to the decisions they've made.

But really isn't bad press subjective?

It most definately will happen again, people are looking to obama to take care of them.
What I mean is many of the people who voted for obama, voted because they hoped he would give them government grants (take from the rich give to the poor) so that they wouldn't have to work any more... So, to them, he's kind of like their god. :eek4:

Pretty unsubstantial accusations there. He will tax the rich more and give breaks to the middle and lower class. That's hardly him giving grants to anyone so that they don't have to work.

Take a look.

Now, I didn't even vote for Obama for those reasons either. Generalizing is not the way to argue, be more specific with your claims.

Shark attack Obama....as soon as he does something...just like any president...the first thing they do, they always go after the pres for it...there isn't much to say about this....the media will definitely hit him up on his first action.

Personally i really like the way Obama thinks, he is probably the one and only persident whom I will never disagree with, i think if obama became the leader of UN then the world would be a better place.

As for media sharks... who cares, i hate media sharks bending the truth, exaggurating...

Well, I was right. It's been less than two weeks, and I've started to see the negative stuff pop up everwhere. What really strikes me as funny is the tabloids, who also have latched onto ol' Biraq.

"Is Obama cheating on Michelle? Find out inside!"

"Our President's terrible past... and illicit affairs!"

Just two I saw recently. I've gotta say, I find it entertaining. :D

NEVER thrust anybody unconditionally, WHY? the answer is simple: you are just going to get hurt. That applies in live as well as in politics. The people that today is saying that they thrust Obama unconditionally, in four years, they are going to be disappointed... because he is not perfect, and even though he has some pretty good ideas, some of those ideas sound good on paper, but when you take them to reality, they don't work so good.
But returning to the main point... the "sharks" need to earn a paycheck, like everybody else in here, and if is necessary to follow the president 24/7 to find something wrong, they will do it, because that's their job.
