I have 512mb but would really like to upgrade to 1gb or 2gb. I can run 4 mIRC's (3 are bots) firefox, msn, avast, and usually some sort of online game(depending on the day ) without to much lag.. but it does get me sometimes lol

i actually have 756mb but im getting a laptop soon and i am going to get a 2gb RAM unit for that. Ill be doing most of my PHP and C# on that. Its really bad on my pc because it is 8 years old. Ive wiped it twice already and it just isnt coping with all the updates. Because i have MSN, apache, mySQL, vc# and netgear - i can barely run anything more. On average i have 37 processes, i was thinking about getting a 2gb ram, but i decided to wait for the laptop.

Really? Does it work or do you have windows 80 something??
He might've messed up his label and might've meant GB. 2MB wouldn't even run anything but DOS.

Not F@#$ing Enough...

I always error out of my games (Steam Games use alot of RAM) because my RAM gets filled up...

I should have never let my parents buy me a PC three years ago, they got ripped off big time. I could have got a computer twice as good as mine for the same price.

(512mb ram)

I have one and a half gigs of RAM, all of which have caused me problems.
I don't think an AMD Athlon 64 2200+ needs anymore than that. Vista probably does however..

1528 MB of RAM, about 1.49 GB.

When my computer is idle, I have 1 GB free
When I'm surfing the net, I have 800 MB free
When I'm playing Counter-Strike or using Photoshop CS3, I have 600 MB free

I have too much RAM :p

Isn't the max amount of RAM that you can get 4gbs? I can't really see how people can be on computers with 512mb of RAM. I can remember the slowness I had, which is why I went out and got two 1 gbs ;)

You can get an 8gb stick and even then you can put more than one in each computer. It really depends on the motherboard.

I had 256mb when I made this thread. Yes, it took 10 minutes to boot up though and sometimes it be crashed for an hour...
So I don't see how people can either :)

i have 3 GB ram on the PC and 4 on the Mac. Since windows reads more than 3.2GB but it just sits there unused, i see no need to upgrade the pc
