4.5Gb on Win7 x64, but applications have started choking recently.

More hard disk space required ;)

And THAT is why I hate windows. I'm running Mac OS X and Linux at the same time (not idling) and I rarely go above 50% RAM.

4 Gb on gaming computer, may be a lot but it shows. A lot of pro gamers get 8. I even know see that sometimes i cant even run recorders on high fps games. Still good though

If you're using FRAPS, there's actually a little trick to that. Record a video at 60 frames a second over the 30 frames a second option and it will take away a very small amount of frames.

My new computer has 6 GB DDR3. Definitely an upgrade from 1.2 GB

(AMD inside) Desktop: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz + 1GB DDR2 667Mhz = 3GB :tongue:

(Intel inside) Laptop: 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz :wink:

I might be upgrading from 4 gig to 6 gig soon :D

Not that I need it, this computer is amazing :)

Why not? I want to jump to 8gb. Not that I need it, but it'd be awesome to know that 1) Sims 3 could store pretty much anything it wanted in memory and not have to unload it, but more importantly for me 2) if any of it ever failed, I'll still have an awesome amount left after finding and removing the bad stick(s) :)

8gig of RAM for my computer costs £450 :( ($700)

What kind of RAM do you have and what clock Alex? The 8GB of DDR3 Corsair Dominator RAM I have in my desktop cost less than half of that price.
