How to connect x10 website to my domain name?

I did put both name servers on my hostgator.com site but my web site still doesn't show up when I type in the URL.
I added the name servers to hostgator: ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com and it's still not showing up when I type the URL into my web browser but I'm confused on the x10hosting portion of the configuration. Do I want to choose 'parked' or 'add on'? Also it mentions creating a subdomain, do I have to do that as well and put my web site in the subdomain? They should give you simple step-by-step procedures on x10's web site, why does it have to be so confusing.
I have a domain name with hostgator and I just want my web site on x10hosting to open up to my url on the web so people can access it. It's just a simple 3-page, non-interactive web site.

We have an article comparing addon and parked domains, though from what you have stated, it sounds like a Parked Domain would be suitable. A Parked Domain essentially exacts the same as your main x10Hosting domain; it will display the same content with no redirection.

Okay, so I choose to add a domain and I choose to add a parked domain and for the name I put in "rickmercerstudio.com and added it and it still doesn't show up when I type: www.rickmercerstudio.com url into my web browser. On my x10 domain page, it says that it's not redirected if that helps.
