if you think you can go to the site for ubuntu and order there that you want the cds and they will send it to your home. Ubuntu is a good OS to try.

There are lots of different types of linux. Kubuntu, Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE, Debian to name a few.
Each one has it merits (And downsides).

You can usually download an ISO of the CD (Not recommended if you have a download limit). So you can also order a CD, but these usually cost a couple of £/$

All the people I know who use Linux as their main workstation use Kubuntu. This has the KDE desktop.
Their website is http://www.kubuntu.org/
To order a CD of Kubuntu go to https://shipit.kubuntu.org/

Just now found the site address for ordering free Ubuntu CDs.
https://shipit.ubuntu.com/
just register there and you can either download the cd or order one which you will get in about 4 to 7 weeks depending on your location for the first time since they want to verify your address. Next time if you order, it will reach you faster as your address has been verified previously. Even you can choose what version do you want. like 32bit or 64 bit.

Go ahead man...

I prefer Ubuntu. A new version is released every 6months and receives updated very frequently, more so than Windows xp or vista. It aslso seems to have the most support on the net

This doesn't seem to be a debate, but more of a question.
Since it seems to have been pretty much answered, :lockd:
