hey I bought a name domain from godaddy, I changed the nameservers to the x10 ones and they updated on their site.
I also parked the domain and tried to redirect it and also tried adding it to the addon domain option but it still doesn't work! my new domain is www.code-magic.org
can someone help me set this up?
thank you!

Once you added it to your account, as parked (alias for your main domain) or addon domain (separate site) there's gonna be a small delay before it works fully, the server would need to get itself updated with information such as what content to serve, before this is fully sorted you will be seeing a default page, this can often be a bit stuck in browser in which case you would need to clear cache.
I did check on your account quickly, you have setup a redirect to the domain www.codemagic.x10hosting.com which does NOT exist, your main domain is codemagic.x10host.com and would be where you want it to redirect, if a redirect is indeed what you want.

Clearing browser cache might speed it up as your cache would likely have the wrong information stored (the domain does not exist page), but yes, all looks good so giving it a little time should sort it out.
Looks like it works properly from my end now.

Your custom domain redirects to your x10host domain.

Look at the address bar.

Is that what you want?

I would get rid of the redirection.

I just checked it and it works now :D but how do I code-magic.org my default domain? I dont want to have .x10host anymore. The domain works but it still shows .x10host.com when it gets there :/ how do i go about making it my primary domain?

I deleted the redirection, I just wasnt sure what it did

Login to the admin interface of the script you are using (seem to be SMF forum with a portal addon) and make sure that you have it configured for the .org domain instead of the x10host.com domain. I personally have not used SMF so I can't tell how to do it though.

Also I had to clear my cache to view the page and the people from my forum have to do the same but some people wont know what to do! is there a way I can refresh it so that you don't need to clear the cache, or a way to clear it for everyone ?

What you'd want to do is set up a redirect going from the x10host.com domain to your .org domain so your users (and their browsers) become aware of the new domain. What you want here is a 301 redirect (moved permanently). You should be able to set this up under "Redirections" in cPanel.

As for other needing to clear cache, that would only apply if you actually gave anyone the new domain to try before it was fully configured, otherwise they wouldn't even know you added a new domain for the site.

I actually had a quick questions, what are the advantages of having a premium x10host? like a paid version? is it more secured and stuff?
also if I was to break my forum would you guys be able to restore an older version? just curious :p not planning on doing that and i think i have a backup

not sure what you are looking for - but here is a link to show you what you have with other type accounts --> [ https://x10hosting.com/wiki/Plan_comparison ]

it is for you to make and keep a CURRENT backup - x10hosting keeps no backup of your free-hosting account
