htaccess nightmares

After countless experimentation of syntax and endless goggling, I am begging to have the sneaking suspicion that the AllowOveride directive in httpd.conf is blocking the use of:

nuked. -leafy

Simply put im startling to run dry of "brilliant" ideas to make it happen.

Also as a side note, site and cpannel /cpannel login just went down, they are timing out

This is most likely due to the fact that we don't use Apache. We use Litespeed, which is a drop-in replacement for Apache, but is not exactly the same. Specifically, I don't think it allows for the use of SetEnvIf/variables.

*sigh* Thanks, digging around on Google has unfortunately revealed that it appears your are correct
Though mod rewrite will work.
Would it be possible for this entire thread be deleted, Im a little uncomfortable about giving any clues at all away about back end security especially when it comes to bot control
