Well yes, I know exactly what is going on with x10's DNS outage going on and all, but it's both fun and boring not having anyone here in the forum. It's a ghost town now! Not to mention, Absolut is running crazy fast right now, faster than I've ever seen it go before. For anyone wondering how I'm still on the forums, DNS caching!

Discuss. (see attachment if you'd like proof).

EDIT: I'll be on vacation this weekend as well, with no internet access, so have fun without me!

Lol! For once in my life I appreciate the way Windows has an obsession with caching a local copy of absolutely everything, including the entire internet (I saved 10GB through deleting temporary internet files o.0 once). But yes, I'm tryinbg to find things to do with the forums and to be honest there's not much going on :p.

Actually it wasn't Windows caching my DNS information. It was my Linux box since that acts as my house's DNS cache server/relay. It runs a lot better having sub 1ms latency to that rather than asking my ISP's local DNS servers every time, which are really quick. I just did that to save on latency.

If only I had the cash to replace my router with a nice Linux server. I can't afford to power a server 24/7 for my websites and home networking, although it would improve things loads. Maybe when my Adsense earnings get better :/

Well, my Linux box has been up and running since I hosted my site from my home connection. It's still hosting stuff on the internet, but it's really only for me now. Other than that, I've got it doing what would otherwise crash my Linksys WRT54GX, and it's firewalling my network, puts in my custom QoS rules, DNS cache, manages my DSL, and e-mails me should my DSL line start crapping out when I'm on vacation, which has never happened despite my unusually fast line speed. The thing is only a 150 watt system that I built years ago with a Pentium III processor, but compared to my gaming computer which is on 24/7 as well, that's hardly anything.

Hey, I don't see the staff section at the bottom! ;)
I think I was online shortly after that. Then it was mostly staff online.

Well yeah because I'm not staff lol. If I was a staff member, it would show, unless you guys want me to view it but give me a big fat error message when I click it

The Off Topic forum is 1337. That's why it's always busy!

Thats great for the support spammers who can help in that forum, but for everyone else we have to make do with the other forums. ;)
