I have a question about DNS

My main site is hosted on a VPS elsewhere, but I decided to host my emails with x10 because it's quite expensive with Google Apps and other variations.

I have switched over my nameservers to the default x10 ones and was wondering if my GoDaddy DNS will still work? It's working right now, but I was wondering if it's just because it hasn't propagated yet.

Also, if my DNS isn't hosted with GoDaddy where is it in the control panel? Do I need to enter any special MX records or anything?

If you're using our DNS name servers, you will need to add any DNS records on your domain here at x10, using cPanel. There's an option inside cPanel for "Simple DNS" or "Advanced DNS".
