I made a layout and would like some constructive criticism on it. The content is just a bunch satirical filler. Like I've already stated, I want criticism on my site layout.

I would get rid of the background image and the multi colors. Try to make it simple with subtle colors. Yes I know my url in my signature is just a default wordpress theme, but I am creating a html/css layout for it. I can show you some examples if need be.

Here is a example i threw together in like 5 minutes, it is just a simple example header. The grass doesn't look the best.

I have to agree.

The background texture is too contrasty and distracts the eye.

Colours should always be kept to 2 and tones of the same colours - maximum 3 if using an accent colour.

Colour saturation is far too bright and hurts my eyes!

Too many font types - a common issue. Try to retain one or maximum of two font types throughout.

Main content font size is too big IMHO. Big is what first-time graphic designers do to make it look more important but in fact, it cheapens it. Try font size 11 or 12.

Your footer background doesn't fit with anything - it should reflect the top in some way.

For a better filler - try 'Lorem Ipsum' (look it up on google) - its the industry standard filler!
