I'm an idiot and broke my site

Hi,

I was trying to install a recipe script - it didn't work - so I deleted it within the public_html folder. Anyways, I seem to have deleted some of the wrong files - as when I installed a new script I got the following message:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@recipes4kids.x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.


Is there any chance I could get my website deleted/recreated? I like my domain name - but I seem to have seriously messed it up and would like to start from scratch (and not get a new domain if possible). If this is not possible, please advise and I'll just start form scratch again with a new site

Did you already try restoring your public_html folder to a previous state using cPanel's R1Soft Backups feature?

I'd never tried that - but I just did - and it comes up saying:
Error:
Failed to connect to (10.1.0.42): Connection refused: connect

I've checked and rechecked the username and password, and the host comes up saying "Stoli" - and I'd presume that's correct.

Your website is working, don’t worry. All you are missing is an index.html page in the public_html directory.

It’s very possible that you don’t have a backup yet, since your account was created just yesterday.

Hey, it happens. If it really was a server error, you did the right thing. Don't feel stupid, you learned something. Next time, try flushing your DNS/Clearing your cache. Then you can know you tried to fix the problem before asking for help.
