What is the deal with their suspension algorythm. it seems to suspend my account at random after just a couple of days of inactivity.

I understand and respect the 2 week rule, though this is not 2 weeks, I last logged onto the website on June 9th, that is 6 days ago. then was suspended on june 11th, two days after my previous log in.

this is not the only time it has happened, with 6 unrightly suspensions on my account while i have been very active the whole time.

this is also proved in my previous thread that is now closed where i made a thread after undue suspension, only to get another inactivity suspension the following day. cheating a thread is proof of activity, you can check the dates of the posts.

http://forums.x10hosting.com/free-hosting/97335-suspended-inactivity-two-days-row.html

I made a ticket asking them to fix their faulty suspension algorythm, and giving feedback that they should atleast send out an automated email to notify people when their website is down, instead of it being down for a period of time before it gets noticed by their friends.

I got an unsasisfactory reply of "thank you for your feedback" to the ticket i submitted. in the meantime the problem is still there, with me finding the account is suspended yet again today. the forums is my last resort to turn to, with unsatisfactory consumer support from the submitted bug ticket

please, could someone on this service have a look at the coding behind the suspension timer, it is obviously going faulty, giving incorrect inactivity suspensions.

apparently, you are unaware of all the issues going on right now and the world should revolve around you and your somewhat immature attitude...:dunno:

The staff have their hands full, and once things are not so stressful for them, I am sure that if you submit a respectful support request to them and not tell them how badly their algorithms suck and what they should do with their company in notifying people when an account is suspended, you might get some help.

In point of fact, I understand exactly why they do not send out emails to people who are suspended - the whole point of the logging into the forums at least once every two weeks is so that people stay active..its not much to ask for the all of the things we get for free.

You'll get better responses when you act in a way that is deserving: respect begets respect, you know.....

Hi pockett.

You clearly haven't been at fault with the log-in process, & have just been unlucky that the numerous problems due to the server upgrades this week have most certainly been the cause of it.

I think it's more a case that you just chose a bad time to point out a problem to Support, & that you hadn't been reading the News section. If you had, you would have seen that they had to delete all the Support tickets due to a sudden huge & unmanageable number that they had received - most of them "frivolous" & pointless. That was explained here ; http://forums.x10hosting.com/news-announcements/98510-support-tickets.html

Please keep up-to-date in the News section so that you can avoid such problems in future. Once the upgrade process is sorted, X10 should be back to its normal, excellent service. :)

For those people still having problems, please make sure you have read this ; http://forums.x10hosting.com/news-announcements/98555-latest-updates-6-14-09-a.html#post549837

you dont get this, it is not about my level of inactivity, i am here every few days opening up the forums and going in some threads to be active. the issue is about the "two weeks of inactivity" being triggered even when i'm active on a regular basis.

I understand their suspension mechanism to keep people stuck into going to the forums, but when they suspend active people then it's wrong.

I hope they sort this out soon.

i'm doing everything possible to keep my website active, logging on here regulary, and it is frustrating how my website goes down due to "inactivity suspension" while i am activly logging on here and doing everything in my powers to keep the website up.

I do get it pockett.

My problem, and hence the way I responded, was the way you went about it. It was not professional and quite whiny imho since this is a free service. And the staff have their hands full with more things than they can humanly handle right now; they don't need people grumping at them when they are doing all this support work for us knowing free hosting basically only costs them money.

Re: Latest Updates 6/14/09 One more pro tip:

If you're rude in your tickets I'm going to close them and not help you... it is beyond my comprehension why someone would think being obnoxious and rude to the people that have no obligation what so ever to help you would make us want to help you at all.

If you're on free hosting we don't owe you anything. You're not generating income for us and if you want to be rude go elsewhere, I don't want you here as a free hosting member, or a paid hosting member, because I know your answer would be "Well now I'm not going to sign up for paid hosting". You know how many times a day we get that? ;) I don't want you as a paid hosting member if this is the way you act.

Just a tip :)

Latest Updates 6/14/09

Is where you can read the above.

I believe, you see now, that I do get it. :)

Hey Elesarr,

To be fair to pockett, we don't know that he was being rude. It's sounds like he may have merely been explaining his problem in detail, to try & get it sorted.

Sorry pockett if we can get a bit tetchy sometimes. After we have responded to dozens of complaints in a row (with lots of them usually avoidable if only the complainant had read the News Updates) - it can be all too easy to take offence at something. :happysad:

Edit : I've just happened upon your post on another thread &, yes, I'm afraid it does seem borderline-rude. Especially seeing as how it was based upon the mistaken belief that you were never told about having to log in, & that you thought doing so was pointless anyway! Though I do agree that a notification email sent prior to suspension would be a good thing, because it would alert you if a suspension was issued incorrectly & unexpectedly.

Anyway, perhaps we should all move on now.....

Pockett, please report back here on any progress & (hopefully) success you have in getting the suspension problem resolved. That way, we can all learn from it & use the info to help out others should the problem crop up again in the future.

As I said, though, this is hopefully just a symptom of the current server upgrade issues, & won't happen once those are resolved. You may need to just wait this one out!

my sincere apologies if I seemed overly rude to you pockett.

As zen-r pointed out, I've been answering lots of not so nice posts.

I can understand your frustration, honestly. Try to be patient and I'm sure the staff will work it all out for you.

I was a bit heavy-handed only because I didn't want to see you get banned from support ;)
