integrating site and forum

hi,

Ive just installed SMF and now want to integrate it into my site. I searched the forum and found this:

"You would then put a link from your website to the forums and a link from the forums to your main website"

How exactly would I do this. What type of link would it be and which pages?

Also I was given an admin URL but whenever I click on it it takes me to a blank page.

The blank page I get is when I try and access the SMF admin area. Is that because I havent linked the webpages yet?

you will have to use the alternative method for fixing the blank page, as you cannot remotely disable hostname lookups.

and no, linking the pages has absolutely nothing to do with the blank page.

In terms of integrating SMF into your website, there are a number of methods.
The SMF SSI.php (server side includes) functions.
Or some mods which will help you with integration as well.

thanks! Its not bllank anymore.

But I need help on one last thing, Im not sure how to link my forum to my site. I tried one method whrere I created a link "home" to my homepage in the top left hand corner of the site by editing the index php. But this didnt look right. What I would like to do is turn the text at the top : "freebies4u.co.cc" into a link to the home page.

I can solve the problem but id need acess to the directory your forums in.

For proof:

http://www.gamepenalty.com my forum is fully intergrated although we are working on some miner stuff at the min

Or alternatively could I put a banner at the top with a link?
