is joomla better to maintain wa website oir to design it ur self?

If you have low coding experience in some ways Joomla is better. What kind of site are you planning to make with J!?

Personally, I'd code your own with PHP and MySQL. It gives you much more flexibility with regards to how much you can do, and will almost certainly save you time in the future.

If you don't want to learn PHP, use Joomla, PHP Nuke or e107. They're all pretty good in my opinion.

I use Joomla on my website, and I find it very useful because it speeds up the creation process, and you can apply a completely new template in seconds.
However I do sometime get annoyed because you can always do exactly what you want.

If you do not have much experience with coding or want you website to be simple to update/change then I'd recommend going with a CMS like Joomla, but if you want to be able to do anything then code it yourself.

I would rather use my own theme with Joomla. It is then easy to add information and control the CMS.

Everything works too nicely it seems like it is going to turn back on you.
I like Drupal because you actually have to do a little bit of work; you can't just install modules through the administrator control panel.

That was one of the main reasons I got turned off by phpBB and Drupal. All the darn freaking edit the php code things. So annoying! I don't have the time to edit the things to make the content, I need the time to put the content.

Same here... but it isn't really that bad, I made numerous sites with drupal that I didn't even touch my keyboard on.

That includes modules...

It depends on your PHP experience, but if you are going to use Joomla, consider e107 first. e107 was more satisfying than Joomla in my opinion. Hey, it's my opinion.

Same. The only thing I don't like about e107 is that even though it allows custom user group permissions, it's sort of hard to understand how it works at first. Sort of like a huge learning curve...

If I had to pick, I would code a website myself.
But if you're looking for the simplest option, you should pick Joomla.
If you want a very feature-rich CMS I would recommend TikiWiki or Nuke-Evolution
