Hi,

I was using the cpanel without error yesterday, however today, when I log in it just gives me a blank screen.

The Server Status link takes me to an Apache test page and the Server Alerts link takes me to a page stating Invalid Forum specified.

I am currently using the free hosting plan to test a download utility with plans to upgrade the hosting plan should the trial be successful.

Also whilst i'm posting,

1) do the paid hosting plans allow remote access to the MySQL database?
2) do the paid hosting plans support SSH to the MySQL database
3) are the shared servers only located in the states or can you specify the location?

Thanks for your help

cPanel doesn't seem to be down on stoli. Maybe it's just a passing issue of high server load. I can access you site just fine. As a matter of facts, you should add to your website a couple webpages explaining what you do, as you are not allowed to use free accounts for file hosting.

Finally, for your questions regarding paid hosting (a staff will have to confirm):
1) Remote MySQL is enabled (it used to be, at least)
2) You have ssh access to the server, which is likely to have the MySQL client installed
3) I don't think you can change datacenter at will.

I'm still having the same problems, also finding this forum incredibly slow.

In repy,

1) I can not remote access MySQL, I assumed it was something to do with the hosting being free and the security surrounding it.
2) I tried SSH access to the server, but no good. Again I assumed this to be because of the free hosting.
3) I was just wondering if they had data centers in the UK and split the hosting based on geographical location.

I understand it is against the TOC to use the free hosting as a file farm. But I needed to test the functionality as this is what the paid hosting would be used for, albeit only for approx 100 users and very small amounts of data transfer, basicall an update utility for software.

1) no remote mysql on free, as for paid i do believe it may be possible.
2) ssh access is available on paid not on free.
3) No only our servers are in the US.

Could you ping/traceroute to x10hosting servers to check your speed?

You asked about the paid hosting supporting these, I replied for paid hosting. Free hosting does not have any of these features.

You will need to get special permission from an admin for that I believe.
