I've setup a free account. Was hoping to be able to setup my small site on x10 servers for the time being.
My mail is already hosted by Google but website hosting with Google isn't great.

In any case I've imported the files and the site appears to be working fine: myHost.x10host.com
I've tried to add a CNAME record pointing to this address for my FQDN but it's somehow not properly redirecting. I don't particularly want to migrate DNS for the entire zone since I have everything else working perfectly.

Any advice on how getting this setup (or why it wouldn't work)?

You would want to add your TLD as a parked or addon domain in order for it to load.

Sweet, that worked great.

Now last question I promise. I've been using Cloudfare on my domain to host my DNS zones.
My TLD zone is set to Active on Cloudfare. I had enabled full SSL in the past though a cert was never purchased (I may have had it enabled on my previous hosting provider however, may have been self generated cert).
I was wondering if this would still work with the free account (or if the settings should be lowered to Flexible SSL from Full since there is no cert on the server side).
